Mechanical Engineer, Glove Platform

Hardware · San Francisco Bay Area · On-site · Full-time · $130k - $220k + equity

Lead the mechanical design of the Ditto glove from prototype through production. Responsibilities span sensor enclosures, internal layout, sizing across XS to L, and long-term durability.

What you'll do

  • Lead mechanical design and integration of the glove enclosure, including sensor PCBAs, fingertip transducers, battery, and wire routing.
  • Carry assemblies through the full lifecycle: concept, prototyping, validation, and production ramp.
  • Analyze tolerance stack-ups, material selection, water sealing, and durability under repeated wear.
  • Work closely with electrical, firmware, and ML so signal quality holds up through mechanical tradeoffs.
  • Maintain 3D CAD, GD&T drawings, and assembly instructions to a standard contract manufacturers can build from.
  • Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles from the earliest stage of design.

What we're looking for

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of mechanical design work that reached high-volume production.
  • Strong 3D CAD proficiency (Onshape, SolidWorks, NX, or similar).
  • Strong fundamentals in materials, injection molding, machining, sealing, and fasteners.
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing of your own designs.

Nice to have

  • Wearables or consumer electronics background.
  • Experience with sensor integration (IMU, flex, pressure, thermal).
  • Experience working with international suppliers and FAI/PPAP processes.
